Hi! My name is Joan Herbert. I’m married to my husband Sam and together we have four children and two dogs. We reside in Mechanicsburg, PA.
I have a Bachelor of Architecture Degree (B.Arch) with a background in math and computer science. Professionally, I’m experienced in residential, commercial, and restorative architecture. I’m a dedicated Team Member; our team placed first in the State level Inclusive Architecture Design Competition.
I’m a hardworking, conservative Christian who is actively involved in Church ministry and missions outreach.
Presently, I am the Committeewoman for Silver Spring Precinct 4 and I’ve assisted with the 2020 Presidential Campaign. Although I am a newcomer, you can trust that I’m not influenced by any special interest groups.
I’ll bring the following to the
Office of the Treasurer:
Fiscal Responsibility
Evaluate and reduce spending.
Balance spending with adequate funding for all required services.
Balance the fiscal budget and policies to reduce inflation.
Ensure positive cash flow
Reduce tax for seniors on fixed income and hardworking American citizens.
Help grow the local economy by creating a successful environment for small businesses to prosper.
Retirement panel
I will work with other Board members to make informed decisions related to the investments of Cumberland County Employees and Retirees.
I will enact policies per government accounting standards and principles and reconcile the balances of Cumberland County Pension's investments and approximately 9,500 County-owned assets.
Fight Lukewarm Republicanism
I will maintain conservative values and fight against woke politics
I will maintain conservative spending as increased spending will lead to higher taxes.
I will work to build back the trust of the people of Cumberland County.
